AAP and SOS

Academic Assistance Program ( AAP) The Shiloh Middle School Generals Academy AAP is designed to help students master the grade-level Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) as well as recovering his/her grade in a core academic area.  AAP is offered in January for 1st semester credit ( Saturdays)  and April for 1st semester and pending 2nd semester credits  ( Saturdays)  The instructional program will provide additional learning opportunities for students in their core academic classes of Language Arts, Math, Science, and/or Social Studies free of charge.  Students are expected to attend all five in person Saturday Sessions and demonstrate growth in their knowledge and skills throughout the program. 

While there is NO COST for the Academic Assistance Program, we do not provide transportation or meals.  Attendance is required for each class.  Students will be expected to comply with all Gwinnett County Public School and Shiloh Middle School Rules and regulations for appropriate behavior.  Students can be dismissed from the program due to inappropriate behavior. 

Earning Course Credit

Students who successfully complete the Academic Assistance Program will be assigned a final grade of 70.  The original semester grade and the AAP grade will appear on the student’s transcript.  For successful completion of AAP class, students must demonstrate mastery on assessments given during AAP.

Program Schedule

Students will be assigned the classes they need based on first semester scores.

Please note that Lunch is not provided.  Students will need to bring their  lunch from home. Saturday  hours are 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

 

Support our Students (SOS)

All students will receive instruction in Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts; it will be remediation and/ or acceleration. Students DO NOT earn course credit.  Students will have the opportunity to receive tutoring, make up missing work, complete NTIs and will also be able to preview new concepts. S.O.S. will incorporate remediation and acceleration to close learning gaps and increase students’ achievement.SOS is offered for two sessions in October and two sessions in November on a Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
