  • Center for Educational Effectiveness Student Survey Coming Soon!

    We are partnering with the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) to administer the Educational Effectiveness Survey (EES) to students. The survey and screener results will provide us with information and feedback within the research-based frameworks of the Characteristics of High Performing Schools and CASEL (Social-Emotional Learning).  Over the last 20 years, the EES survey has been used in over 280 districts. Based on these experiences, here are some details:

    • Data will be used to support and inform improvement conversations with staff and leadership at the school and district level
    • Each building will receive their building-level reports, and the district leadership team will receive district-level summary views.
    • The survey is confidential. GCPS and CEE will protect the confidentiality of each respondent.

    To gather this information, your students will take the 30–45-minute screener and survey at school on February 9, 2024.

    We look forward to these events where families will amog other things Among other activities during each evening, teachers will be working with parents/guardians and students to review academic goals and the steps to reach them.   • Dual Enrollment Information for 8th Graders

    8th grade students and families, please check out this information from the Georgia Department of Education regarding Dual Enrollment. It's purpose is to promote and increase access to postsecondary educational opportunities for Georgia high school students while increasing high school graduation rates, preparing a skilled workforce, and decreasing time and cost to postsecondary credential completion.     Families of students in the ESOL Program -

    We would like for you to attend our annual Lilburn Middle School ESOL Night at the Library on Monday, January 8 at 5:30 PM. This will take place at the Lilburn Branch of the Public Library at 4817 Church Street in Lilburn.

    At this event you will learn how to help your child prepare for the upcoming ACCESS ESOL Test and sign up for a free library card which will give you and your child access to many free resources. Also, one family will win a free tablet!

    Greetings Parents, LMS scholars have been chosen to receive free vision screening on Monday, Jan. 8, Tuesday, Jan. 9, and Wednesday,  Jan. 10, 2024 by Vision To Learn. Parents, you will receive a hard copy of this OPT-OUT letter (English - Spanish) within the next two weeks, please print the electronic version or wait for a hard copy and complete 'ONLY IF YOU DO NOT' want your child to be screened and return to your child's homeroom  teacher within one or two days.

  • SurveyGeorgia Student Health Survey

    To help improve our schools and those across the state, Gwinnett County Public Schools students in grades 3-12 will participate in the Georgia Student Health Survey (GSHS). The GSHS is an anonymous and statewide survey instrument that covers topics such as school climate and safety, peer, and adult social support, bullying, mental health, substance abuse, and suicidal ideation.

    The Student Survey will be open for students in grades 3-12 via the GCPS Student Portal from November 6 – December 15, 2023.

    Parents may complete the Opt-Out process if they do not wish their student(s) to participate in the survey. Parents may use the Parent Portal (in the Student Information section) to complete this process, or they may send a written request to the schools to opt their student(s) out of this survey. Please note that any parent/guardian wishing to opt his/her student out of the survey should complete the online form or inform the school in writing (English) (Spanish) at least 72 business hours before the school has scheduled the administration of the survey to ensure that the student does not participate. 

    Lilburn Middle School will administer the online survey to students on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

  • Red Ribbon Week: October 23th - 27th - "Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free."

    Red Ribbon Week starts Monday, Oct. 23 through Friday, Oct. 27. Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life. It presents an opportunity for parents, educators, and communities to reinforce the drug-free messages they share with their children throughout the year.

    Our theme this year is "Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free." Students and staff will participate in a variety of activities throughout the week." Check out the 2023 Red Ribbon Week official website for more information about the National Family Partnership initiative.

  • Rising 6th MeetingVirtual Rising 6th Grade Parent Meeting, Thursday, April 27, 6 PM

    We’re looking forward to seeing hte parents and guardians of Rising 6th Graders in our Virtual Rising 6th Grade Parent/Guardian Meeting Thursday, April 27 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM.
    During the meeting, you will virtually meet our principal, Dr. Irish, our 6th Grade Assistant Principal Mrs. Carmichael, our 6th Grade Counselor Mrs. Parrish, Parent Instructional Coordinator Mr. Doyne, and several 6th grade teachers.

  • Summer Food Resources and Assistance

    Gwinnett County Public Schools: Information regarding meals during summer school and the K-8 Summer Enrichment and Acceleration program will be communicated with participating families. However, all GCPS families can take advantage of the curbside pickup service for children ages 18 and younger. The meals—both breakfast and lunch—will be provided at 27 middle schools from June 14 to July 2 between 11 a.m. to noon on weekdays. (All middle schools will participate except Five Forks MS and Jones MS, which are undergoing construction.)

    Gwinnett County Community Services is offering free grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches at 25 locations. Curbside pick-up of nutritious meals is for 18 years or younger or those 19 years of age or older with a physical or mental impairment. Click here for a list of county locations and additional information

    Gwinnett Cares is another resource for families seeking food resources and assistance this summer, available at https://gwinnettcares.org/need-help/individual/food/.

    We all share a common goal for our children to be safe and protected. Teen Lures Guidance will be taught to 6th-8th graders by their grade level counselor.
