    About Ms. Bartholomew

My younger years took me all over the world.  My father was in the Air Force for 20 years.  My mother was an elementary school teacher.  Because of the examples set by my parents, my brother and I went into service professions.  At home, I enjoy playing with my whippet, Louie. Recently, I added Fancy (an older greyhound) to our pack as well. Reading, traveling, birdwatching, and watching the Falcons are also favorite activities.

I was a classroom teacher for many years. My teaching experience includes second, third, and fourth grades. I also was a FOCUS teacher for first through fifth grade and a reading/math support teacher for first through fifth grades. I love being your media specialist! It's wonderful to work with students, staff, and parents on a larger scale!

Getting students excited about reading and learning is a passion of mine!  The media center operates at its best because of the volunteers who donate their time.  If you are interested in serving our staff and students by helping find books, shelving books, checking books in and out, and being a friendly face to encourage our students to read, please contact me.

    About Mrs. Gutierrez

I was born in Monterrey, Mexico, and I grew up in a traditional Mexican family. Christmas, birthdays, and Mother's days are some of our most important reunions. I got my bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and worked for almost 10 years primarily in purchasing and materials planning. I moved to Suwanee in early 2000, just after our wedding. We have been in this area since then and we really love it. I have 3 kids, my oldest goes to Georgia State, I have a Senior in NGHS and my youngest is in 5th grade, right here in Riverside.

Living in a country without any relatives close by, I decided to leave my job and spend time taking care of my babies. Years later, I started working at the Preschool where my kids attended, working as an assistant and lead teacher for almost 7 years.

Due to the pandemic, I stopped working at the preschool and, after spending several months at home with my whole family, I felt that I had to do something different. I began to substitute teach for Gwinnett County Schools, and last school year I got the opportunity to be the Media Clerk. Being in this position allows me to continue enjoying the students, staff, and parents.
