Have an account?

  • For those of you who have not already applied for a parent portal account:

    • If you're not sure if you have an active account, simply click this link and use your email address as the username to attempt to reset your password.
    • If the system does not recognize your email address, then please complete a parent portal application form and email it along with a scan of your photo ID to  
    • If you already have an active parent portal account, sure to check that we have your correct parent contact information. Here is the link to log in.

SchoolMessenger System

  • GCPS parents and guardians can access SchoolMessenger through their Parent Portal account. The link is found under the Notification System tile. A parent also can use the app or visit the SchoolMessenger website at Create an account by clicking Sign Up at the top right.

ParentVUE Overview

  • ParentVUE/StudentVUE iOS update required: If you experience an issue accessing the ParentVUE or StudentVUE mobile app using Apple iOS, download the most recent version from the Apple App Store: 11.2 or higher.

Navigating the Portal


  • Click to visit the Parent Portal login page


  • Student Preferred Name

    Families of students who wish for their child to be called by a “Preferred Name” other than their legal name will need to go into ParentVUE (in the GCPS Parent Portal) to provide that information. (Please note that if you had provided a "Nickname" previously, you still will need to enter that name as your child’s Preferred Name.) See details.

    Phone Numbers

    Parents can update student's home phone number and emergency contacts through Parent Portal. 

    Home Address

    Parents cannot change a home address on Parent Portal. That has to be done in person with supporting documents that the school places on file. Visit the Registrar page for details 

    Email Address

    Complete another Parent Portal application and present it at the main office with a photo ID. Please write CHANGE OF EMAIL on top of the form. Or email the form and a scan of your ID here.
